Linda Edna Cardellini is the daughter of Lorraine (Hernan), a mother and Wayne David Cardellini (a father) who is an entrepreneur. She comes from Italian, German (from the paternal maternal grandmother), Irish and Scottish heritage. Linda was the eldest child of four in San Francisco Bay, California. As a teenager, she became interested in acting after she sang in a Christmas school play. Her school involvement continued with plays and theater for the community. Following her breakout performance in the role of Lady Rose MacClare on the period drama Downton Abbey from 2012-2015 Her first big break was in the movie fantasy Cinderella in 2015. James then portrayed the Countess Natasha Rostova as part of the adaptation of War & Peace (2016). James also appeared in several films, such as Baby Driver (2017) and The Dig -2021. There We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday (2019). In 2022, her performance in the role of Pamela Anderson was recognized with a Golden Globe nomination and a Primetime Emmy Award.
